HONG KONG - May 29, 2023 - As we go about our daily lives, safety is often something that we take for granted. We assume that we will be safe and secure. But in reality, accidents can and do happen, and it is up to all of us to take steps to prevent them.
Carlsberg has all committed to our Together Towards ZERO and Beyond ambition of a ZERO accidents culture. By 2030, we want to ensure that none of our employees are injured in an accident at work.
To bring us all closer to our ZERO Accidents Culture ambition, Carlsberg Brewery Hong Kong and Asia Regional held a Health and Safety Week from April 24 to May 5, offering many interactive and practical experiences designed to promote our safety and health culture in the workplace.
The week was kick-started with the sharing from João Abecasis, EVP Asia, Joy Rice, VP ISC Asia, together with Alan Leung, Senior Supply Chain Consultant of Carlsberg Brewery Hong Kong, highlighted the importance of returning home safe every day and walked through last year’s Regional and Hong Kong amazing results in accidents reduction.
“Safety is our top priority, and we must work all together to ensure that our workplace is free from accidents and injuries, and everyone can return home safe,” Joy said.
We have also prepared healthy food boxes and life-saving cards to remind our colleagues of their health and safety at work.
Colleagues at the warehouse, who are more likely to be exposed to physical harm hazards, have participated in interactive life-saving training for situations, including forklift blind spot awareness, chemical handling exercise and technics on lifting and manual handling.
In addition to physical safety, the training also emphasized the importance of managing stress and ergonomics in the workplace for office workers.
This is no job that is so important that you cannot take time to perform your work safely, and each of us is responsible for our safety!
Let’s work together to create a ZERO accidents culture and make Safety a priority every day!
